About HICCIP
The Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines, Inc. (HICCIP) is a halal certifying body and trade chamber based at Jafer Place, Greenhills, San Juan City, Metro Manila. Filipino Muslim businessmen founded the organization on 16 March 2013, and it was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 25 June 2013 as a non-stock, non-profit organization. In the same year it received accreditation from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), the government agency that accredits private halal certifying bodies in a country without a single state certifier.
Beyond certification work, the chamber promotes halal entrepreneurship, business networks, and investment partnerships involving local and international business groups, and it describes itself as a member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the International Halal Authority Board (IHAB). Its certificates have also gained acceptance from MUIS in Singapore and CICOT in Thailand. A Department of Trade and Industry directory updated in November 2019 recorded Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and Indonesia under its global market recognition, while noting that its separate Philippine Accreditation Bureau application had been inactive since March 2019.
The JAKIM gazette lists Atty Carim L. Panumpang as the contact person and records no website, although the chamber maintains its own site and an active social media presence.
