HalalBoss is an independent reference for the global halal trade. We track the 94 halal certification bodies and authorities across 48 countries that hold recognition from JAKIM (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia).

Why JAKIM? Its recognition list is the most widely watched benchmark in the halal industry. JAKIM recognition determines which certifiers' halal certificates are accepted for products entering Malaysia, and exporters, manufacturers and buyers worldwide treat it as a hard third-party credibility signal when choosing a certifier.

Every listing is derived from the official gazetted list, The Recognized Foreign Halal Certification Bodies & Authorities, published by JAKIM's Halal Management Division under the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Halal) Order 2011, as at 30 January 2026.
