About WHT
World Halal Trust (WHT) is a group of halal certification companies headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. Founded in 2016, the group has grown into a network of 13 branches, with member companies located in Lithuania, Greece, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Belarus, Turkiye, and China. From this base it serves clients across Europe and the EU, the Middle East, ASEAN and other Asian countries, and the CIS and Central Asian region.
The group’s main activity is the certification of manufacturers of meat, dairy, hygiene, and pharmaceutical products, alongside other food and non-food producers and meat processors. Its schemes extend along the supply chain, covering animal farming, food processing, and animal slaughtering, and the group continues to monitor halal certified production after a certificate is issued, supported by a traceability program.
Audits are conducted against the standards required by each destination market. For Malaysia the group certifies to MS 1500:2019, while OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 is applied for Turkiye, Pakistan, Central Asian countries, and other markets with specific requirements. OIC/SMIIC 6:2019 and OIC/SMIIC 9:2019 are used for catering, halal food, and tourism services.
Operating from the Baltic region, WHT is positioned to support European meat and dairy exporters seeking access to Muslim majority markets.
