JMUIM Halal Pakistan

JMUIM Halal Pakistan is a halal certification body based in Mansoorah on Multan Road in Lahore, Pakistan. It is wholly owned by Jamia Markaz Uloom-e-Islamia Mansoorah, a religious education institution founded in 1981 that brings long experience in Islamic jurisprudence, halal standardization, training, and halal certification. The body describes itself as Pakistan’s first leading halal certification body, became associated with JAKIM of Malaysia in 2009, and began halal certification in accordance with MS 1500:2009 after building its technical and Shariah teams. Its chairman is Dr. Farid Ahmed Piracha. Today it cites more than ten years of experience in the halal industry.

The certification scope covers beverages, slaughterhouses, processed foods and ingredients, cosmetics and personal care products, the gelatin sector across food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications, and tourism and hospitality, including halal medical tourism. The body positions itself as a provider of both national and international halal standard certifications, auditing against the Malaysian standard MS 1500:2019 and the Pakistan standard PS 3733:2019. Beyond certification it offers training, capacity building workshops, and short courses.

Its certification process runs through five stages: application, a Stage 1 audit reviewing documentation, ingredient lists, production processes, and ingredient sourcing, a Stage 2 audit with on site inspection of production and storage areas, a corrective action plan where non compliance is identified, and certificate issuance. After certification the body may conduct periodic surveillance visits or audits to confirm continued compliance with halal requirements.
