About IHC

International Halal Certification (IHC) is a halal certification body headquartered in the Defence Housing Authority area of Karachi, Pakistan, with offices in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. According to the Halal Accreditation Agency of Turkiye, the body’s main activity centres are in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, giving it a footprint across South Asia and the Gulf.

IHC describes its service as both a product and a process certification, confirming traceability of the complete supply chain from farm to fork. Its certification scope covers processed food and ingredients, beverages, meat and poultry abattoirs handling species such as cow, goat, buffalo, sheep, and camel, as well as pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, animal feed, packaging materials, food service establishments, and hotels. The body states that it was the first organization to offer halal hospitality certification to the hotel sector in Pakistan, and it also provides awareness training on halal food management systems.

On the accreditation side, IHC was accredited by the Pakistan National Accreditation Council in September 2019 under certificate HCB 006, and it holds accreditation from the Emirates National Accreditation System. In 2023 the Halal Accreditation Agency of Turkiye (HAK) granted halal accreditation to IHC following assessments against national and international standards. The body is registered with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority and the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, is a member of the World Halal Council, and has a memorandum of understanding with the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand, which lists IHC among its recognized certification bodies.
