HALAL CONTROL GmbH

HALAL CONTROL GmbH is an independent halal certification body based in Ruesselsheim am Main, Germany, near Frankfurt. Established in 2001, it was among the earlier dedicated halal certifiers in Europe and operates under the motto “Confidence through Integrity”, treating certification as a duty of trust toward consumers built on ethics, compliance, quality, and competence.

The body certifies food and beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals for European manufacturers exporting to Muslim majority markets. Audits are carried out against the major national and regional halal standards, including Malaysia’s MS 1500:2019, the OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 standard, and the Gulf standard GSO 2055-1, alongside requirements set by MUIS and BPJPH. Its certification system is structured around ISO/IEC 17065 and related conformity assessment norms.

The certification program follows a twelve stage sequence covering application and prequalification, an optional gap analysis, a two stage initial audit, corrective action review, an independent certification decision, and ongoing surveillance. Certificates operate on a three year cycle with annual surveillance audits, and the body applies check and countercheck mechanisms in which audit findings are reviewed by additional evaluators before a decision is made.

HALAL CONTROL is accredited by HAK, the Halal Accreditation Agency of Turkiye, under the OIC/SMIIC scheme and is a member of the International Halal Accreditation Forum. Its recognitions span key importing authorities including JAKIM in Malaysia, BPJPH in Indonesia, MUIS in Singapore, CICOT in Thailand, and regulators in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, giving certified clients access to markets across Southeast Asia and the Gulf.
